I know this is quite a few days late, but better late than never.
On May 2nd, 1998, the musical world lost one of it's brightest, Hideto Matsumoto, known as hide, the former guitarist of X-Japan. He was found hanging by a towel in his apartment. Barely alive, he was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
I wish I had enough words to be able to describe this man, to describe the wonderful things he did and the beauty and happiness of his personality. I think there was probably never a dull moment when he was around. From what I saw, he seemed like a happy-go-lucky guy.
I didn't start listening to him until about two years ago, I guess. I was heartbroken when I came upon a video of his funeral. It reduced me to a crying mess. The sheer number of people who were there doesn't even show how much he was loved. The way I see it, if it had been possible, the whole world would have taken part in it.
Obituaries were ran world-wide, talking about hide like the amazing musician he was, his accomplishments, etc etc. When he died, cries were heard all over the world.
I miss him very much, and I know it's small, but I just wanted to give my own little memorial for him. It's been ten years since his death, but his spirit still lives on in his music.
